ENRICHMENT

Leopard geckos are desert creatures, but that doesn't mean they can't get bored! The act of including engaging items for your pet to interact with it known as 'enrichment'. For leopard geckos, this usually involves basking spots and climbing implements. Leopard geckos spend many of their waking hours seeking warm rocks to bask on. This is how they digest food and absorb critical nutrients. This is where the flat slate rocks mentioned in the habitat tab come in. Include these, and a few spots higher in elevation, closer to the light. Your gecko also loves to climb! This keeps them in great physical condition and allows them to engage and feel control over their environment. Lastly, we recommend a few faux leaves or cacti. These will make it easy for your leo to shed, as they need a sharp edge to rub against.
